Hold a key. Pick a tool.

Each tool is marked up with itself. The key you hold as you start dragging picks the tool.

Point at the thing. No modifier needed.

Text. Enter or Esc finishes, ⇧⏎ adds a line, ⌘= and ⌘- resize. T over existing text edits it.

A digit drops a numbered badge at the cursor. Two quick digits make one number: 3, 3 → 33.

  • Copy to clipboard ⌘⏎

    Paste it straight into a chat, a ticket, a doc.

  • Save to a folder ⌥⏎

    A PNG on your Desktop, or in any folder you choose.

  • Upload, copy the link ⌃⏎

    Uploads to Uploadcare with your public key and copies the link. If the upload fails, the PNG is saved locally.

  • One hotkey, your choice⇧⌘5 by default. Record a different one in Settings.

Installation.

Requires macOS 14 or later.

  1. 1Download Skryn.zip from the latest release.
  2. 2Unzip it and drag Skryn.app to Applications.
  3. 3Open it. macOS blocks the first launch because Skryn isn't notarized: go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.On macOS 14, right-click → Open works too.
  4. 4Grant Screen Recording permission when asked.
